Event Summary

About the event

In many traditions and cultures land and the history of a place has a significant place in ritual, ceremony and the well-being of the community. Cultivating this connection can have significant impact in our constellation work particularly with questions around belonging to place, immigration, forced removals, wars, and not being able to return to the places we and our ancestors belonged to. These are current and recent experiences of people who have been marginalised, the significance often a blind spot to modern, privileged or westernised people. When did we lose our sense of land as a sacred ancestor, and how do we reclaim it? Drawing on over two decades of constellations experience internationally as well as indigenous Southern African wisdom, Tanja will guide you in a process of reconnection, including exercises that are immediately translatable to your work. You will leave this session feeling expanded in your understanding of yourself, your ancestors, your clients, and the world as a whole.

Tanja Meyburgh, author of "Reclaiming Ancestors", is an internationally renowned trainer in constellations work that integrates ceremony and ritual for a modern ancestral path. With an MA in systemic psychology, she pioneered constellations work in South Africa since 2003, was initiated as a traditional healer, and has written, spoken, and taught extensively on the subject. She also holds training and experience in ecotherapy, expressive arts and movement therapy, empowerment of marginalised voices through narrative therapy, and creates in a safe, grounded container for her work.
