Freetext "about me" in english
International Gestalt trainer and Family Constellations practitioner. Operating in Australia, China, Japan, South America and Egypt. My interest and study of psychotherapy spans 50 years. I have been in private practice for 40 years, working with individuals, couples and families, and running Gestalt training since 1994. As well as Gestalt, my therapeutic modalities include Family Constellations, Family Therapy, Career Coaching and Narrative Therapy. My background includes theatre and clowning, street theatre, community activism, meditation philosophy and practice. I have run several enterprises including a vegetarian cafe, a sign writing business, and a food coop. I founded the Northern Rivers Gestalt Institute in Australia and was director of the program for 17 years, and have been teaching in Asia (Korea, Japan and China) since 2008. I bring Contemporary Relational Gestalt work to a range of domains – therapy, business, education and parenting. I am the director of a Masters of Gestalt Therapy program, offered in Shanghai. I developed a system called Relational Parenting which I have taught in China and Mexico. I am also an accredited Right Use of Power

One of my specialisations is in the area of psychotherapy and spirituality. I was professor of Spiritual Psychology at Ryokan College in Los Angeles, where I designed a Masters degree program. I have run a workshop on the topic around the world, for the last 23 years. I am the author of the bestselling book for men called ‘The Woman In Your Life – A Man’s Guide to a Happy Relationship’, published in Australia, India, Mexico and China. I have 5 grown children and 4 grandchildren. I am fascinated by systems theory and cybernetics, and recently completed a doctorate on the interpersonal dimensions of power. I applied Family Constellations in working with Aboriginal Australians and the trama background arising from colonial invasion. A lot of my constellations work was done in Japan, where I consistently ran workshops in a range of cities for a ten year period. My style of constellations work is very phenomenological. I dont like to lean too much on interpretation, prefering to allow information to arise from the field.
