I have studied many fields that contribute to my expertise in Family Constellation work and particularly with childhood sexual trauma or sexual assault in adulthood. I had a keen interest in sociology when I was younger, seeing the effects of community and systemic groups on individual wellness. As a teacher of students aged 12-15 primarily, the focus on how the child functioned within the family was a dynamic that helped me understand and be able to offer the student something unique to him or her. Somatic observation also proved a worthy practice with teenage students. Many things are evident through this observation style as we often see in a constellation practice. I found hands on learning in many of my interactions in helping students succeed. I was sexually abused in childhood and out of this came many years of my own healing journey. By 1999, I had formed a support group for adults who were sexually abused in childhood. This was largely a group of sharing and affirmation, of seeing one was not alone. I used to say, “A burden shared is halved.” And, “A joy shared is multiplied.” But as the years passed, I was searching for a modality that I might learn to be of ........
